The nazi chef at Wasabi Tei has sold off his business to some new crappy guy who no longer gives the same amazing standard of food that he used to provide. Those thick thick sashimi slices and tasty hotpots and grilled foods. Wasabi Tei you will be missed! Here are some photos from my last meal there.
There happened to be a tuna cutting session when I was Isetan last week so I decided to take a look. Here is the chef prepareing to cut open the main body.
I went for a more powerful omakase dinner at the Standing Sushi Bar this time round!
1st course: Vermicelli with spicy sesame oil dressing
I thought this was chuuka kurage (jellyfish) at first since this dressing is usually used with jellyfish for an appetizer.
This time I’m going to try making a basic Mexican recipe, chicken fajitas.
Just had another awesome omakase at the Standing Sushi Bar.
1st course: Chuka hotate (scallop wings)
Loved this appetizer cos I love scallops!
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. They were taken with my phone and I had to reduce the quality of the image in order to store them all. I don’t have an expanded memory device for my Blackberry yet, but I think pictures have enough detail in them.
The food is separated according to which day/course they belonged too. This isn’t everything I had on my trip, some of the foods were ordered again another night (what can I say? My family likes to eat certain dishes), or I couldn’t hold up a table of 12 people just so I can take a picture. So without further delays, I give you Foods of Vancouver.
