Dinner at Cugini

Dinner at Cugini on a cold and rainy evening.

Starting off with some bread appetizers. The red bits are tomato pulp which adds a nice flavour to the bread.

Bresaola della Valtellina con olio al limone e Parmiggiano

This is hand cured beef with lemon oil and shaved Parmesan cheese. It is actually covering a bundle of rocket underneath so when you wrap the rocket leaves with the beef and cheese and eat it, the different tastes come out very strongly.

Risotto alla Siciliana mantecato con astice, asparagi e mele verdi

This is Sicilian style risotto with lobster, asparagus and green apple. Didn’t have the seafood taste I was expecting, it was something else, kinda sweet with a bit of lobster taste. It was quite unique I have to say.

Spaghetti amatriciana

Spaghetti with crispy Italian bacon, tomato sauce and Pienza pecorino cheese. Love the crispy bacon! Not sure how they made it but there was a strong taste to the tomato sauce. The cheese really worked well with the sauce to lift the pasta.
