Nan Hwa Chong Fish Head Steamboat Corner

Posted on: November 2, 2013

Located in one of the corners at the junction of where North Bridge Road meets Jalan Sultan, Nan Hwa Chong Fish Head Steamboat Corner has been serving up lots of fish head steamboats that makes the mouth water since  it was founded in 1927.

It’s still a very traditional place and quite packed on weekend nights. They have seats in the back alley, along the main road, and even taken over a few other shop units around.

And it’s simple really – old school thin aluminium steamboat pot with smouldering charcoal chunks inside, keeping a rich fish broth at boiling point.

Here are some of the other side-dishes that you can order with the steamboat.

This is definitely a place to hit on one of those cold rainy nights during the monsoon season.

i love this place. best fishhead steamboat ard. none of that milk-sweetened stock base that so many of the other places use.

Haha yeah, there’s that rich caramelised edge to their soup over here.

Gosh charcoal in the steamboat! I’ve never seen something like that :O

It’s a really old school style of steamboat! Do try it if you’re interested in fish steamboats.
