Ah Hoe Mee Pok

I actually ate at Ah Hoe Mee Pok quite a long time ago, before he got featured on ieatishootipost and in the newspapers, so from what I’ve heard the additional fame (as if he wasn’t famous enough) has caused some changes to his dishes.

But in summary, Japanese man tries bak chor mee, falls in love with it, decides to learn how to make it, and in typical Japanese kaizen style, makes a better bak chor mee.

Having just tried it again over the weekend, I still think it’s pretty good but it’s missing the different lard that he used previously. The meatballs are still great but the wantons aren’t so tasty anymore.

Would still patronise them of course, if the queue isn’t insanely long that is.
