The Tippling Club was opened by Ryan Clift back in 2008 and only moved to its present location at Tanjong Pagar in 2013.

It’s pretty well-known for its more adventurous and avante-garde dishes, playfully concocted by Ryan.

Well the food is definitely interesting, as you can see below. There were some hits and some misses but overall I’d say this place lived up to its hype.

That said, I did realise it isn’t really my kind of place. Playful yet not really going all the way like The Fat Duck.

I think for me, it was like a good experience to see how far food can be pushed in the local scene, but ultimately it’s not my kind of food.

While the playful and experimental dishes were indeed interesting and well-done, I felt that the ‘middle’ dishes were not as good as places like Andre or Odette.

Considering they make up about the bulk of the dinner, I felt I might be better off eating at one of those other places if that is what I was looking for.

Still I think it’s worth going for lunch to get a feel of the dinner and if you still want to go for it.
